This Privacy Policy (the "Privacy Policy") applies to the use of the website www.ihf.org.il (the "Website"), operated by the Israel Healthy Heart Foundation (R.A.), registered association no. 580024248, of 33 Jabotinsky Street, Ramat Gan (the "Foundation"). This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which personal information is collected on the Website, the use made of it, its transfer to third parties, and the rights of the user with respect to information collected about the user. The Foundation is committed to protecting the privacy of Website visitors and to complying with the provisions of the Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981 (the "Privacy Law"), the Protection of Privacy Regulations (Data Security), 5777-2017, and any other applicable provision of law. Use of the Website is subject to this Privacy Policy, and by using the Website the user confirms that the user has read it and consents to the collection, processing and use of personal information as described herein. This Privacy Policy forms an integral part of the Website's Terms of Use, and in the event of any conflict between it and the Terms of Use, the Terms of Use shall prevail.
The Foundation may collect two types of information from Website users: information collected automatically, and information actively provided by the user.
Automatically collected information: When visiting the Website, the content management system (WordPress) and its hosting services collect certain technical information regarding the visit, including the user's IP address, device type and operating-system version, browser type, the date and time of the visit, the Website pages viewed, the referral source, and the browser language. This information does not, in itself, enable the personal identification of the user, and is used by the Foundation for statistical purposes, for maintaining the proper functioning of the Website, and for its improvement.
Information actively provided through the "Contact Us" page: A user who chooses to contact the Foundation through the "Contact Us" page on the Website will be required to provide certain details (full name, email address, telephone number, and the details of the inquiry), which will be used solely for the purpose of responding to and following up on the inquiry.
Information regarding donations from donors in Israel: The Foundation enables online donations on the Website for donors in Israel, through an external payment processor (Grow). When making a donation, the donor is required to provide personal details (full name, address, identity-card number, contact details and credit-card details). The credit-card details are collected and held by Grow as the operator of the clearing system, and the Foundation itself does not directly hold donors' credit-card details. The remaining details are transferred to the Foundation for the purpose of issuing a receipt to the donor, fulfilling its reporting obligations to the Tax Authority under law, and maintaining contact with the donor.
Information regarding donations from donors in the United States: Donations to the Foundation from donors in the United States are made through a partner American organization, the Central Fund of Israel ("CFI"), a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization in the United States. The donation process, the collection of personal details and the issuance of the tax-deductible donation receipt in the United States are carried out and governed by CFI, in accordance with its terms and with applicable law. The Foundation itself does not hold personal information regarding such American donors, but only summary data transferred to it by CFI upon completion of the donation.
Information from other sources: Should the Foundation operate additional services on the Website in the future (such as newsletter registration, event registration, or the creation of personal accounts), the Foundation will update this Privacy Policy accordingly, and will set out in it the additional information to be collected, the purposes of its collection, and the terms of its use.
The Foundation collects and uses the personal information of Website users solely for the following purposes: 8.1 providing the services offered on the Website and their ongoing improvement; 8.2 responding to inquiries and questions of users submitted through the "Contact Us" page; 8.3 carrying out online donations and issuing receipts to donors; 8.4 reporting to the competent authorities, to the extent required by law, including reporting to the Tax Authority in respect of donations and to the Registrar of Associations; 8.5 securing the information on the Website and preventing its misuse; 8.6 statistical analysis for the purpose of improving the Website and the Foundation's activities. The Foundation will not make any use of the personal information provided to it that is inconsistent with the purposes set out above, and will not transfer it to third parties except as set out in clause 10 below or as required by law.
The Website uses cookies – small files stored in the user's browser for various purposes, including identifying the user throughout the visit, saving language and display preferences, the proper management of the Website, and, in certain cases, collecting statistical information regarding the manner of use of the Website. All such providers are bound by service agreements that include provisions concerning confidentiality and data protection, in accordance with Regulation 15 of the Protection of Privacy Regulations (Data Security), 5777-2017; 10.2 to authorities competent under law, to the extent required in accordance with the provisions of law (including the Tax Authority, the Registrar of Associations, a competent court, and the like); 10.3 for the purpose of enforcing the Foundation's rights or defending against claims, to the extent required by law or by judicial decision; 10.4 in any other case – subject to the user's prior written consent. The Foundation will not sell, rent or trade in the personal information of Website users.
The Foundation employs reasonable data-security measures, in accordance with the Protection of Privacy Regulations (Data Security), 5777-2017, in order to protect the personal information collected from Website users. These measures include, among others, storing the information on secured servers in Israel, encrypting communications using the SSL protocol, restricting access to the information to authorized personnel only, and retaining logs of activity on the Website. In the event of a material data-security incident, the Foundation will act in accordance with its obligations under law, including the obligation to notify the Privacy Protection Authority and the users who may be affected, to the extent required by law.
The Foundation will retain the personal information collected for the period required to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or for the period required by law, whichever is longer. Without derogating from the foregoing: 12.1 donors' details will be retained in accordance with the documentation and reporting obligations applicable to associations in Israel, and in accordance with the provisions of the Income Tax Ordinance regarding the documentation of donations; 12.2 details of users who contacted the Foundation through the "Contact Us" page will be retained for the period of handling the inquiry and for a reasonable period thereafter, following which they will be deleted; 12.3 automatic technical information (logs, IP addresses) will be retained for a period not exceeding 12 months, unless required for a longer period for legal, security or regulatory purposes.
In accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Law, the user has rights with respect to the personal information collected about the user, including the right to review the personal information retained about the user by the Foundation, the right to request the correction of incorrect or outdated information, the right to request the deletion of the information (subject to the limitations existing under law), and the right to file a complaint with the Privacy Protection Authority. In order to exercise the foregoing rights, the user may contact the Foundation at info@ihf.org.il or through the "Contact Us" page on the Website. The Foundation will respond to the inquiry within a reasonable period of time and in accordance with the provisions of law.
The Foundation may contact users who have provided it with their email address in the context of a donation, an inquiry through the "Contact Us" page, or registration for an event – with messages relating to the Foundation's activities, including invitations to events, updates on research activity supported by the Foundation, and donation requests. Every marketing message will include a simple and accessible unsubscribe option. A user who requests to be removed from the mailing list will be removed from it without delay. The Foundation will act in accordance with the provisions of section 30A of the Communications Law (Telecommunications and Broadcasting), 5742-1982 (the "Spam Law"), and will not send advertising material without prior consent or in other circumstances permitted by law.
The Website is not intended for minors under the age of 18, and is not designed to collect personal information from minors. A parent or guardian who has identified that a minor in the parent's or guardian's care has provided personal information to the Foundation is requested to contact the Foundation at info@ihf.org.il, and the information will be deleted.
The Foundation may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, including in order to adapt it to the provisions of law, to new services that will be operated on the Website, or to new technologies that will be used. The updated version will be published on the Website and will apply from the date of its publication. The date of the last update is set out in clause 18 below. A material change to the Privacy Policy that narrows the user's rights or significantly expands the scope of information collection will apply only after notice has been given to users in accordance with law.
