The team writes and reviews articles, up-to-date medical information, research summaries, and professional publications, with the goal of making reliable, accurate, and science-based information in the field of heart and cardiovascular health accessible to the public.
Prof. Alon Eisen serves as Acting Director of the Cardiology Division and Director of the Cardiology Inpatient Department at Rabin Medical Center.
Prof. Eisen also heads the Clinical Research Unit within the Cardiology Division at Beilinson Hospital, as well as the Personalized Cardiology Clinic, which focuses on tailoring medical treatment to the unique characteristics of each patient in order to improve quality of life and help prevent future complications after cardiac events.
Prof. Eisen is deeply involved in educating the next generation of physicians and in leading national and international clinical studies in the fields of acute coronary syndrome, secondary prevention, and risk factors for heart disease.
Prof. Eisen is a Full Clinical Professor at the Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at Tel Aviv University. He completed his advanced clinical research training with the prestigious TIMI Study Group at Harvard University in Boston, United States.
Since 2023, Prof. Eisen has served as Secretary of the Israel Heart Society, a role in which he works to advance cardiac medicine in Israel and strengthen professional ties with heart societies around the world.
Prof. Zaza Iakobishvili is Associate Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and Director of Community Cardiology at Clalit Health Services, Tel Aviv-Jaffa District. A senior cardiologist at Samson Assuta Ashdod University Hospital, he is Founder and Chair of the Cardio-Oncology Working Group of the Israel Heart Society. His research spans acute coronary syndromes, cardio-oncology, and community cardiovascular care, with over 130 peer-reviewed publications, an H-index of 31, and more than 7,300 citations.
Prof. Noa Vilchinsky serves as the Head (Dean equivalent) of the Division for Designated
Programs at Bar-Ilan University and is internationally recognized for her pioneering research in
Psycho- Cardiology, coping with chronic illness, family caregiving, rehabilitation, trauma, and
multicultural aspects of coping and crisis.
Her work has been published in top-tier academic journals and supported by prestigious
funding bodies such as the European Union’s Research Fund (ERC-ITN) and the Israel Science
Foundation (ISF). Prof. Vilchinsky has received numerous accolades, including the Vice
Rector’s Award for Outstanding Lecturer, the Bar-Ilan UnBox Venture award for technological
innovation in patient care, and, in 2021, the Fellowship Award from the European Health
Psychology Society.
Prof. Vilchinsky holds key national and international leadership roles. She is a member of
Israel’s National Council for the Prevention and Treatment of Cardiovascular Diseases,
formerly served on the Executive Committee of the National Institute for Rehabilitation and
Treatment, and until recently acted as Secretary of the European Health Psychology Society.
In 2024, in response to the Iron Swords War in Israel, she co-founded Bar-Ilan University’s
Academic Resilience Center and currently serves as the head of its steering committee.
In 2025, Prof. Vilchinsky co-authored the European Society of Cardiology’s Clinical Consensus
Statement on mental health and cardiovascular disease, a landmark publication in the
European Heart Journal that advances the integration of psychological care into cardiovascular
medicine (Bueno et al., 2025).
Dr. Inbar Nardi Agmon is a senior cardiologist at Sheba Medical Center and leads the
cardio-oncology service at the hospital. She graduated from the Hebrew University of
Jerusalem with a medical degree and holds a Master’s degree in Public Health from
Tel Aviv University. She completed her residency in internal medicine and cardiology
at Rabin Medical Center (Beilinson), where she also began working in the field of
cardio-oncology. She later completed a two-year fellowship at Toronto General
Hospital in Canada, specializing in advanced cardiology treatments for cancer
patients. Alongside her clinical work, she is actively engaged in cardio-oncology
research, integrating clinical and laboratory studies at Sheba, as well as at Toronto
General Hospital.
Dr. Chen Gurevich is a senior cardiologist specializing in preventive cardiology and lipid disorders. She serves as Head of the Preventive Cardiology and Lipid Center, and as Director of the Ambulatory Cardiology Service and Outpatient Clinics at Rabin Medical Center. In addition, she is a researcher in the Metabolism and Lipids Program at Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital in New York.
Dr. Gurevich is a graduate of medical studies and completed her residency in internal medicine and cardiology at Rabin Medical Center, Beilinson Hospital, where she developed a special interest in preventive cardiology and lipid disorders. She later completed advanced fellowship training in preventive cardiology at Mount Sinai Hospital, where she has continued to work as a researcher.
Her clinical and research work focuses on the early detection and prevention of cardiovascular disease, with an emphasis on lipoprotein(a), advanced imaging of atherosclerosis, and the use of AI-based tools for cardiovascular risk assessment. She leads and is involved in several international research projects, including machine learning–based studies examining the effects of innovative treatments on cardiovascular outcomes, as well as research on women’s heart health and gender-specific risk factors.
Alongside her extensive research activity, Dr. Gurevich works to advance personalized medicine in the field of cardiovascular prevention, combining clinical excellence, research innovation, and system-level leadership.
Dr. Tal Grupel, MD, is a senior pediatric cardiologist at the Pediatric Heart
Institute, Sheba Medical Center. She cares for children with congenital heart
disease across all settings — from the outpatient clinic and hospital wards to
the cardiac catheterization lab — accompanying them through every step of
their journey, combining clinical expertise and catheterization skills with
academic research aimed at advancing the care of children with complex
cardiac conditions.
Dr. Shirit Kazum-Beizer is a cardiologist and sports physician, Head of the Sports
Cardiology Service, and a senior physician in the Echocardiography and Valvular
Heart Disease Unit at Beilinson Hospital. Her work focuses on the cardiovascular
evaluation, counseling, and care of competitive and recreational athletes, as well as
patients with valvular heart disease. She performs exercise stress testing, stress
echocardiography, and cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET), tailored to individual
patient needs. In addition to her clinical practice, she is actively involved in teaching
medical students and physicians and leads ongoing research in sports cardiology and
exercise physiology. As Chair of the Sports Cardiology Forum of the Israeli Heart
Society, she is actively working to advance the field in Israel.
Dr. Kobi Faierstein is a specialist in Internal Medicine and a Fellow in
Cardiology at Sheba Medical Center. He integrates clinical practice with
research, with a particular focus on the application of artificial intelligence for
the diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases and risk stratification. In addition, he
serves as Chair of the Cardiology Fellows’ Forum within the Israeli Heart
Society. Dr. Faierstein also mentors junior students in research projects the
“Excellence Project Arrow” at Sheba.
Dr. Alon Kaplan, MD-PhD, is a cardiology fellow at Sheba Medical Center and
a lecturer at Tel Aviv University. He treats patients in the pericardial and
myocardial disease clinic and combines clinical practice with research in heart
failure and structural heart disease. His work focuses on using large scale
clinical data to improve the understanding and care of cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Ido Cohen, MD, graduated summa cum laude from the Faculty of Medicine
at Tel Aviv University. He is a specialist in internal medicine and currently a
cardiology fellow at Sheba Medical Center. His work integrates clinical practice
with applied research, focusing on cardiovascular imaging and the use of
advanced data-driven and artificial intelligence–based tools to enhance
diagnosis and risk stratification. In parallel, he is involved in medical innovation
and digital health, working to bridge real-world clinical needs with the
development and implementation of technological solutions in healthcare.
Dr. Loai Mreisat MD is a specialist in Internal Medicine and a Cardiology
resident at Sheba Medical Center Tel HaShomer.
His professional focus includes interventional cardiology, exercise physiology,
and sports cardiology, alongside the integration of advanced technologies and
artificial intelligence in cardiovascular medicine.
Dr. Adam Folman is a cardiology resident at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center,
combining clinical practice with research in cardiovascular disease. His
interests include electrophysiology and cardiac arrhythmias, as well as the use
of large-scale databases to analyze clinical outcomes. He is involved in
international research projects, including the development of AI-based tools for
cardiovascular risk assessment and remote patient monitoring.
Roy Rahpael M.D, a specialist in Internal Medicine (Sheba Medical Center) and
a graduate of the Etrogim Program (Hospitalist, Sheba Medical Center). He is
currently a cardiology resident at Sheba Medical Center.
He treats patients at the Pericardial and Myocardial Diseases Clinic and
researches cardiac involvement in rheumatologic and immunologic diseases,
structural interventions, and the early detection and prevention of
cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Valentin Belinson, specialist in Internal Medicine and a cardiology fellow at
Sheba Medical Center. He is engaged in advanced clinical practice alongside
research in cardiovascular diseases.
Dr. David Hochstein is a resident in Internal Medicine at Sheba Medical Center.
His work integrates clinical practice with data-driven research, focusing on
patients with heart failure, particularly those with concomitant renal dysfunction,
with an emphasis on analyzing clinical trends and long-term outcomes. In
addition, he is involved in research and development in advanced medical
technologies, including three-dimensional imaging and the use of virtual and
