The Foundation’s Board of Directors is composed of senior leaders in cardiology and medical management in Israel, including leading professors and department heads. Board members are responsible for setting the Foundation’s policy, leading its activities, and overseeing the implementation of its goals to advance heart health in Israel.
Professor Amit Segev is the Director of the Heart & Vascular Center at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov). Prior, he served as the Director of the Division of Cardiology at the Sheba Medical Center.
A world-renowned expert in interventional cardiology, Prof. Segev specializes in complex cardiac catheterizations, coronary artery disease, and the treatment of valvular heart disease, including Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI). He is recognized as a pioneer in Israel for the radial artery approach in catheterization and is a leading specialist in the management of pulmonary hypertension.
Prof. Segev is a full Professor at Tel Aviv University's Faculty of Medicine. He has authored over 220 scientific articles and is an active member of the leading forums within the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). Additionally, he served as the President of the Israel Heart Society

Born and raised in Jerusalem , married + 3 . Graduated medicine in Jerusalem , trained in medicine and cardiology in Jerusalem and at Sheba . Trained in electrophysiology and pacing at Mayo Clinic , to which he is still associated in research and clinical collaboration , nominated as adjunct professor of medicine at Mayo Clinic since 2017 .
Over the years served as the director of the arrhythmia center at Sheba as well as the vice director of the Sheba Heart Center . Serves as the director of the heart center in Shaare Zedek since 2017 . Over the same years he served as the secretary and as the chairman of the Israeli working group of electrophysiology and of the Israel Heart Society . He was a board member of the European society of cardiology and served on multiple functions there . Served twice as the program chair of the European meeting of Heart rhythm (EHRA ) and as the co president of the biannual Israeli dead sea symposium of arrhythmias . Published more than 200 scientific papers including guidelines and position papers in arrhythmia and device management . Practices clinical and interventional electrophysiology and pacing .
Prof. Katia Orvin serves as the Director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Units at Beilinson and Hasharon Hospitals. As a Clinical Associate Professor at Tel Aviv University's Faculty of Medicine, she combines cutting-edge clinical practice with research and the education of Israel's future generation of physicians.
Throughout her career, she has gained unique expertise in treating complex cardiac conditions, including cardiogenic shock, myocarditis, and advanced invasive procedures such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI). Prof. Orvin is the Secretary of the Intensive Cardiac Care Working Group of the Israel Heart Society and is active in prestigious international forums. She also leads the ACSIS (Acute Coronary Syndrome Israeli Survey) Research, the most comprehensive national survey in the field of cardiology in Israel
Ms. Karen Davidson has served as a Senior Executive Manager at the Israel
Heart Society and the Israel Cardiology Association since 2017, leading the
organizations’ operational, professional, and strategic activities. She is
responsible for the planning and execution of major professional cardiology
conferences, coordination of scientific committees, and development of
collaborations with medical institutions, government bodies, and leading
international cardiology organizations.
She has led key organizational developments, including the implementation of
advanced information systems, improved governance and transparency
processes, and comprehensive financial management. In addition, she played
a central role in establishing the Israel Healthy Heart Foundation, dedicated to
promoting cardiovascular health and expanding public impact in Israel
